Motor Takaful

Our motor takaful policies offer a wide range of cover as per Unified Motor Insurance Policy that issued by the Capital Market Authority.

What are the criteria to purchase a Motor Takaful Policy?
  • Ahli Islamic customers who own cars.
  • The car must be registered in Oman plate to a citizen or legal resident. 
  • Takaful is available to private individuals purchasing new or used vehicles, Except Chinese Vehicles(Saloon/Sedan, 4X4/SUV, Pick Up, Station Wagon, Sports Model vehicles – Private use only). 
What are the documents I need to insure my vehicle?
  • ID Card copy.
  • Valid driving license copy. 
  • Valid car registration copy for used cars.
  • Invoice copy from Dealer for New cars.
How do you calculate my takaful coverage Contribution?

Contribution will be calculated based on many factors including Value of vehicle, Vehicle Type, Age of driver, Previous claim history etc.

Why can’t the takaful policy and registration be in two different names?

The policyholder should be the registered owner and primary driver of the car with a financial interest in the vehicle. The traffic department will only register a vehicle in the name of the policy holder stated on the cover certificate.

How do I make an insurance claim?

Visit Al Madina Takaful Office During the working hours from 8:00 AM to 4.30 PM (Sunday to Thursday) or intimate the claim through AMI online platform through the link below: https://www.almadinatakaful.com/customer-login/

When I can get my policy and Royal Oman Police (ROP) form issued?

The ROP form and the policy documents will be issued immediately by authorized Staff of Al Madina Takaful at the bank branch at which you apply, upon payment of the Contribution.

What is the policy period?

A motor insurance policy is valid for a period of one year and must be renewed at the due date.

Domestic Help Takaful

Who can be covered in this plan?

This plan is exclusively for the domestic helpers under the sponsorship of Ahli Islamic customers between the ages of 18 and 50 years

Is Domestic Help Takaful Cover compulsory for Ahli Bank customers?

No, it is a voluntary plan, you can choose to buy the cover. But Domestic Help Insurance is compulsory to obtain a new visa or visa renewal.

Is Domestic Help Takaful cover applicable worldwide?

Yes, the coverage is worldwide Death cover Due to any Cause and Accidental Death, subject to exclusions mentioned in the Policy wording.

Do any medical tests required in order to buy the plan for my Domestic?

There is no need to undergo any medical tests or fill in any medical questionnaires for the plan. However, any pre-existing medical conditions / Injury is excluded from cover.

When does the Takaful plan begin?

The coverage begins just after the Contribution is debited from your account subject to Domestic helper is arrived in Oman.

If I do not want the policy anymore, can I cancel it?

No. Domestic Policy cannot be canceled. However, it can be transferred from one person to another subject to transfer fee of RO 3/-.

When will I receive the policy certificate?

The certificate of insurance will be handed over to you at the Ahli Islamic Branch, after the payment is processed.

How will my dependents or I make a claim against the policy?

What documents are required to make a claim?

In order to make a claim, the following documents are required:

(a) Death Due to any reason (Other than Accident):

  •  Death Certificate stating the cause of death.
  •  Post-mortem report if it is legally required.
  •  Medical / Hospitalization report.
  •  Clear copy of Passport or National Identity Certificate with visa page for the deceased.
  •  Any other document that the Takaful Company may deem necessary. 

(b) Accidental Death:

  •  Death Certificate stating the cause of death.
  •  Police report.
  •  Post-mortem report if it is legally required.
  •  Medical / Hospitalization report.
  •  Clear copy of Passport or National Identity Certificate with visa page for the deceased.
  •  Any other document that the Takaful company may deem necessary. 

(c) In case of Accident / Permanent Total Disability:

  •  Disability Certificates from a medical practitioner or a medical board authorized to assess disability.
  •  Police report (if disability is due to an accident).
  •  Medical report from an authorized medical practitioner with detailed diagnosis, including causes of disability and details of treatment given (if any).
  •  Any other document that the Takaful company may deem necessary.

What age group can avail Travel Insurance?

From Newborn Up to 80 years old for single trip.

What does Fire & Special Perils Takaful Plan Cover?

Our Home Takaful covers the Building, contents of your household and personal belonging (within the house- Excluding Cash, Jewellery and valuables) due to fire, lightning, Riot, Strike, Malicious Damage, Earthquake, Explosion, Storm, Tempest, Flood, Impact due to Aircraft, Impact damage Including own Vehicles, Escape of Water from tanks, pipes and apparatus and theft.

What is meant by ‘contents’?

Contents include all household goods and personal effects that belong to you. This includes furniture and fittings that do not belong to the landlord.

What is meant by ‘personal belongings’?

Personal belongings include articles for personal use that are worn, used or carried by you. For example, watches, mobile phones or laptops.

What is the difference between ‘contents’ and ‘personal belongings’?

Contents are items that remain within the house, while personal belongings are items that may be carried outside the house.

Does this policy cover the contents of my home for any loss or damage due to storm, flood, tempest (such as cyclones Gonu and Phet) or any other natural calamity?

Yes, the policy covers natural calamities such as floods, storms and earthquakes.

Which plan should I choose?

We recommend choosing a plan based on the value of your household contents and personal belongings that offers a level of coverage you feel is most appropriate.

As a tenant, will damage to my landlord’s property be covered?

No.

Can I also have building takaful cover?

Yes, if you own the building or apartment you wish to insure. This can be purchased with or separately from the standard plans offered.

Can I start my takaful cover today?

Yes, the takaful cover can start with immediate effect as soon as you pay the Contribution.

Critical illness

What is Critical Illness?

Critical illness cover or a dread disease policy, is an insurance product in which the insurer is contracted to typically make a lump sum cash payment if the policyholder is diagnosed with one of the specific illnesses on a predetermined list as part of an insurance policy.

How is Critical Illness better cover for protection against major illnesses than Medical cover?

Under Critical Illness once the member is contracted with Illness entire amount is paid is advance before the start of treatment unlike medical where as and when bills are submitted reimbursement is made to policy holder

Why should I buy Critical Illness plan?

Critical illness cover pays for:

  • cost(s) of care and/or treatment
  • recuperation aids
  • outstanding financial liabilities, typically a Mortgage
  • unpaid respite time, whilst recovering from ill-health

Critical Illness Cover is suitable for those concerned they may not be able to meet their financial commitments or maintain a reasonable lifestyle if diagnosed with a critical illness.

If the policyholder is diagnosed with a medical condition listed within the policy document, the Takaful company would make a cash lump sum payment to the policyholder, regardless of their life expectancy. The most common illnesses included are cancer, heart attack, stroke traumatic head injury, total permanent disablement.

Consideration should also be given to the fact that a large number of people will recover following diagnosis of a Critical Illness, which will result in a claim, and the sum assured being paid. They may continue to lead a long, healthy lifestyle whilst knowing their mortgage liability or other financial commitment or burden is now taken care of, due to the lump sum payment. Therefore, they may not be required to continue working, or will have the option to reduce their hours, or even change their occupation, to suit their new lifestyle.

Do I have to do medical test before taking this scheme?

No, member do not have perform any test at hospital, only simple proposal form of health declaration is required to be filled by applicant.

What is the difference between Critical Illness and Terminal Illness?

Terminal Illness Insurance only pays the benefit where the life expectancy is less than 12 months at diagnosis whereas Critical Illness Cover would typically make a lump sum cash payment if the policyholder is diagnosed with one of the critical illnesses listed in the insurance policy.

What is the age limit?

The attained age of a Participant should be between 18 and 59 years at application (age next birthday). The policy will cease once the Participant attains 60 years of age.

What is the Territorial limit in CL plan?
